Grade 4, 5 and 6 students at Gulf Shore School in PEI worked with artist Maurice Bernard to produce a large, three-dimensional map of the community of Rustico, which shows the physical changes of this area and includes scale reproductions of various buildings such as schools, churches, stores and harbours during the 1970s scale reproductions of various architectural sites from the 1970s.

Through research and interviews with members of the community, students learned about the economic orientations of Rustico and gained insights into how the community has changed over the last 40 years. 

16 students participated in the project which infused the Arts with Language Art, Science, Social Studies and Math.
